How FPL price changes work

Fantasy Premier League reprices players once a night, at 23:00 UTC. Every player carries a progress figure towards their next change, driven by how many managers are transferring them in against how many are transferring them out. At 100% the change happens: a rise if the traffic is inward, a fall if it is outward. The board above puts that figure on a gauge with zero in the middle, so which way a player is going and how close they are read as one shape.

What "likely" and "very likely" mean here

FPL rates each of the next three nights on its own scale, and only the top two steps of it are a call. Anything below that shows as unlikely to change, which is honest rather than unhelpful: on most nights the game moves a handful of players and leaves the other six hundred where they are. That is why the board sorts on progress and not on the label. A player at 92% is worth watching tonight even when FPL has not committed to calling it.

Why a player can be locked

After a price change a player is frozen for a few days and cannot move again until the lock expires. Locked players get their own tab on the board with the number of days left, so a squad full of recent risers does not read as a squad about to rise again.

Selling a player who has risen

Prices change in steps of 0.1m. A rise adds to what a player costs to buy, but you only keep half of any rise since you bought them, rounded down to the nearest 0.1m. A player up 0.3m since you signed them sells for 0.1m more than you paid, so the value of catching a rise is in buying before it, not in holding after it.

Watching your own squad

The board is free to read and needs no account. With a free FPL Rivals account and your manager ID linked, it marks your fifteen, counts how many are set to rise or fall on the night you are looking at, and filters down to just your squad. The same account tracks your rivals, builds a squad with the squad builder, and reads the weekly briefs.
